Blood Drive Sep 2024
September 15, 2024 | In Collaboration with Bloodworks Northwest & Gurdwara Sacha Marag Sahib
We partnered again with Boodworks Northwest to host our second blood drive for this year. The blood drive was more organized this time and donors appreciated the experience. Our team was thrilled to see the community support and willingness to donate. We are grateful to Sacha Maraga Gurdwara for allowing us to host the blood drive and for the support from Punjabi Likhari Sabha.
A Day in Punjab 2024

The second annual festival included a great mix entertainment including free turban tying, Gatka, Bhangra, Giddha, live singing and dhol, play, bhand (comedy). Our featured artists this year included Vikram Singh (AmaSingh Magician) and Raagnder. The event also had Sikh/Punjabi history exhibition, immigrant stories exhibition, free langar seva (food), kids activities area and much more! We served 750+ free meals.

Bhangra Mixer

We hosted our first Bhangra (folk dance from Punjab) mixer which included teaching people about history of Bhangra along with some basic Bhangra steps. This gave participants a chance to connect with the Punjabi culture through Bhangra. Our food sponsor was Indian Bistro & Haveli.

We partnered with Boodworks Northwest to host our first blood drive for this year. We filled all of the appointment slots and actually had to turn several people away. Our team was thrilled to see the community support and willingness to donate. We are grateful to Sacha Maraga Gurdwara for allowing us to host the blood drive and for the support from Punjabi Likhari Sabha.
Langar Seva 2023

Langar (free community kitchen) seva (selfless service) are core principles in Sikhism. We partnered with UGM and volunteered at two of their shelters. We prepared, cooked and served meals to over 150 guests.
Winter Clothing Drive 2023

This clothing drive was held in honor of the Chote Sahibzade and Mata Gujri’s sacrifice who were held captive in a cold tower by the Moghul emperor in December 1705. The community members dropped off winter clothing at local temples. We collected over 10 jumbo-size bags of clothes to donate to guests at Union Gospel Mission.

A Day in Punjab hosted an art gallery by Inkquisitive, magic show by The Amasingh Magician, a fashion show, turban tying, food and other local vendors, Sikh Martial Arts (Gatka) performance, Bhangra & Giddha (dance) performances and much more!
Toy Drive 2022

Evening of wrapping toys, games, music and spending time together in the holiday spirit. The toys were shipped to a non-profit organization to be passed out to kids.
